RATING RAT RACE: ‘Bachelorette’ Hits Season High, ‘Under The Dome’ Dips, ‘Siberia’ & ‘Get Out Alive’ Hit Lows

There was rain, there were kisses, insulin theft and there was a growing panic in Chester’s Mill last night on Under The Dome (2.7/8). The fifth week of Steven Spielberg and Stephen King-produced show, which CBS unsurprisingly renewed for a second season on Monday, saw a dip of 4% from its July 22 show last night. That’s a season low tie for Dome but the series was still the highest-rated show of the night and the most watched with 11.08 million viewers.  Other than Dome, CBS was all encores on Monday night.

Part 1 of this season’s The Bachelorette (2.3/7) finale had the final three suitors indulge in Fantasy Suite Week with Desiree Hartsock. Besides the usual stuff that also included one very long conversation and a role reversal of a sort as the competition came down to the final two for next week. Still as the suitors went down, the two-hour show was up. Last night’s Bachelorette, which was the second highest-rated show of the night of the night, was up double digits from the week before. The reality show shot up 21% from its July 22 show to hit a season high among the key demo. It was also up 20% in viewers from  last week to 7.77 million, another season high. Mistresses (1.3/4) also had a surprise with a maternal visit as the drama rose 8% from last week’s show. ABC won the night in both total viewers (6.561 million) and among adults 18-49 with a 2.0/6 result.

Over on NBC, there was a chill on Siberia (0.7/2) as the freshman fake reality show drama fell 13% from its last new show of July 15 to hit a season low. Siberia’s real reality show Get Out Alive With Bear Grylls (1.2/3) lead-in had a rough night too – falling 14% from last week to a season low. NBC’s primetime last night started off with the Venice Beach finals on American Ninja Warrior (1.5/5). The show slipped 6% from last week to also hit a season low.

The second week of the second season of the CW’s Breaking Pointe (0.2/1) saw the ballet-based show even with its debut on July 22. Fox ran repeats of its comedies.
