‘Chocolat’ Scribe Robert Nelson Jacobs To Pen ‘How Starbucks Saved My Life’

Robert Nelson Jacobs (Chocolat) has been tapped to adapt The Weinstein Co.’s How Starbucks Saved My Life, based on the NYT bestselling memoir by Michael Gates Gill. Pic tells the story of an exec who suffers a professional crisis and bounces back by working as a barista at his local coffee shop. Author Gill’s 2007 Gotham Books tome was originally set up at Universal before TWC acquired rights last September. Polly Johnsen and Christy Ezzell will produce for Polymorphic Pictures with TWC’s Dylan Sellers and Julie Oh overseeing. Jacobs is repped by The Gotham Group, The Gersh Agency and attorney Carlos Goodman.
