UPDATE: RATINGS RAT RACE: NBA Finals Game 4 Dips From 2012, ‘Kimmel’ Up

UPDATE, 2:54 PM: The final score is in and last night’s Game 4 of the NBA Finals proved a close loss for ABC compared to last year. With a 6.7/12 rating and 16.2 million total viewers the battle between the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs dipped 7% in viewers and 9% among Adults 18-49 from last year’s Game 4. The Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder game on June 19, 2012 pulled in 17.4 million viewers and a 7.4 in the demo. Still last night’s game garnered the best numbers in viewership and key demos for the network for the 2013 series to date. It also saw ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live Game Night special up over last year’s comparable night with a 13% rise in viewers and 10% among Adults 18-49 to 3.5 million watching and a 1.1/4 rating.  In final numbers, the NBA Countdown pre-game show drew 5.7 million total viewers and a 2.0/7 rating.
