Yves Simoneau To Direct USA Pilot ‘Horizon’: Video

EXCLUSIVE: It is only fitting that Yves Simoneau, who directed the pilot for USA Network‘s last genre series, sci-fi drama The 4400, has been tapped to helm the network’s re-entry in the genre arena, period alien drama pilot Horizon, executive produced by Gale Anne Hurd (The Walking Dead). Set during the height of World War II, Horizon, from Universal Cable Productions and Valhalla Entertainment, it centers on a female secretary at the FBI who begins a secretive investigation into files that have been stamped with the codename “horizon.” The mysterious project provides links to the death of her husband and the disappearance of a young girl, and has also — unbeknownst to her — aroused the interest of undercover Nazi spies working in the U.S. (Watch below Horizon‘s conceptual trailer, which was screened at USA’s upfront presentation last month.) The project, written/executive produced by Bridget Tyler, was originally given a cast-contingent pilot order in December but was later pushed until after the end of the broadcast pilot season when more talent is available. Casting is currently underway, with production targeted to begin this summer. Besides The 4400, Simoneau, director/co-exec producer of HBO’s Emmy-winning Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee, directed the pilots of two other genre series, ABC’s alien drama V and the CW’s procedural with genre elements Beauty And The Beast.
