NBC Picks Up Culinary Game Show Hosted By Adam Richman & Produced By Electus

NBC is stocking up on unscripted series heading into summer. On the heels of the pickup of a home makeover reality competition series starring Nate Berkus yesterday, the network also has greenlighted Food Fighters, a culinary game show. Hosted by TV personality/author/food enthusiast Adam Richman, the Electus/Universal TV-produced series will feature a top-notch amateur home cook facing off one by one against six professional chefs from every corner of the world. Echoing Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, the amateur contestants will rely on their own recipes and three culinary “lifelines” as they square off against expert chefs who will have to cook the same dish. The completed dishes will be sampled in a blind taste test by a panel of culinary judges known as “The Dinner Party.” If the home cook wins, they earn a cash prize and get to face off again against another culinary expert, climbing a money ladder with increasing cash prizes for every professional chef they knock out.
