CW’s ‘Reign’ Finds Its Male Lead, ‘Company Town’ Adds Co-Stars

British actor Toby Regbo has been cast as the male lead opposite Adelaide Kane in the CW pilot Reign. Additionally, he has landed the lead in the indie Burden. Reign, from CBS TV Studios, chronicles the rise to power of Mary Queen of Scots (Kane) when she arrives in France as a 15-year-old, betrothed to Prince Francis (Regbo), and with her three best friends as ladies-in-waiting. It details the secret history of survival at French Court amidst fierce foes, dark forces, and a world of sexual intrigue. Prince Francis is thoughtful and very nervous about inheriting his throne. He doesn’t know if an arranged marriage is what is best for him, and is having an affair. Brad Silberling is directing the pilot from a script by Stephanie Sengupta and Laurie McCarthy. Based on the novel by Tony Walters, Burden  follows young Peedie Burden (Regbo) who’s full of guilt after surviving a car crash that takes his cousin’s life. French director Christian Carion (Joyeux Noel) is directing for Echo Lake. Regbo is with WME, UK’s BWH Agency, Schachter Entertainment and Karl Austen.
