Leave it to Judd Apatow to have as much fun with his Academy Award campaign as he does producing his movies. Here’s an advance look at Sony Studios’ “For Your Consideration” ad for Walk Hard that’ll be Friday’s cover of The Hollywood Reporter. Granted, it’s a reference/parody of an actual ad Johnny Cash did to “thank” Nashville denizens for their “support”. But I still say, finally, here’s someone who understands that an Oscar push for a low-brow comedy and/or spoof is a waste of time and money. However, the studio is going to campaign on this pic’s behalf for music, writing, comedy awards. Go figure.
