RATINGS RAT RACE: ‘Last Resort’ And ‘2.5 Men’ + Miley Cyrus Up, ‘Elementary’ Down

Miley Cyrus may become one of the most sought-after comedy actresses this coming pilot season after delivering another set of big ratings for CBS’ Two And A Half Men. With Cyrus back, the veteran sitcom (4.0/11) was up 11% from last week to match its season high posted by Cyrus’ first episode on the show last month. Men‘s lead-in The Big Bang Theory (5.0/15) was down a tenth from last week while matching an all-time high in total viewers (16.54 million). Person Of Interest (2.9/7) was flat in 18-49 while hitting a season high in total viewers (14.7 million). But Elementary (2.2/6), which just snagged the coveted post-Super Bowl slot, was down 8% from last week to tie its lowest rating to date. CBS won the night in 18-49 and total viewers.

(ABC’s Thursday lineup was pre-empted for the CMAs last week.) Both series had been rumored to receive episodic orders, and the ratings upticks may have validated that. Grey’s Anatomy (3.2/8) also was up, by 7%, while Scandal (2.0/5) was flat. (more…)
