EMMYS: Louis C.K. Leads List Of Multiple Nominees

His eponymous FX comedy may have been snubbed again in the best comedy series category, but comedian Louis C.K. once again was the most nominated person at the Primetime Emmy Awards. He surpassed his four noms from last year, landing a whopping seven nominations this time: three for his FX series Louie: for best actor, directing and writing; and four for his Live From the Beacon Theatre FX comedy special: for best variety special, writing, directing and editing. Following in his footsteps is Lena Dunham, who got four nominations for her HBO comedy series Girls: for best actress, writing and directing as well as sharing into the series’ best comedy series nom as an executive producer. An unusually large number of actors landed double noms on the series side this season. Parks & Recreation star Amy Poehler was nominated for best comedy actress and for writing an episode of the NBC comedy, while Jimmy Fallon was nominated for hosting Saturday Night Live, and his NBC late-night talk show earned a variety series nom. Tina Fey was nominated for 30 Rock as actress, exec producer and the nonfiction short 30 Rock: Ask Tina. Getting double acting noms are Michael J. Fox (The Good Wife, Curb Your Enthusiasm), Kathy Bates (Harry’s Law, Two And A Half Men), Jon Hamm (Mad Men, 30 Rock) and Melissa McCarthy (Mike & Molly, Saturday Night Live host)
