Maggie Gyllenhaal Joins 'White House Down'

Sony Pictures is moving quickly on White House Down, the James Vanderbilt-scripted thriller that Roland Emmerich will direct. Channing Tatum was set as the Secret Service agent who tries to thwart a White House takeover, and Jamie Foxx is going to play the president. Now, Maggie Gyllenhaal is in talks to play the female lead. Shooting starts in August. The Crazy Heart star most recently starred in Hysteria, about the invention of the vibrator.

White House Down is produced by Mythology Entertainment partners Bradley Fischer, Vanderbilt, and Laeta Kalogridis and Emmerich and Harald Kloser.
