Robert Redford Opens First-Ever Sundance London Film And Music Festival

The inaugural Sundance London Film and Music Festival kicks off tonight with a sit-down between Robert Redford and T Bone Burnett at the capital city’s O2 arena. Nick Hornby is due to interview the pair onstage about matching music to image. Redford held a press conference this morning in London where he commented on Prime Minister David Cameron’s recent comments that support funds should go to films that are “commercially successful.” Redford called the view “very narrow” adding it doesn’t address the broad category of filmmakers and artists in the business. This is the first time the Sundance Festival has traveled outside the US. Redford said it was a chance to bring new artists and voices to the UK outside of the normal Hollywood fare. On Saturday, the world premiere screening of Harmony: A New Way Of Looking At Our World will be held.
