YouTube MGM Movie RentalsYouTube’s blog says the site and sibling service Google Play has begun adding more than 600 titles from the studio for rental in the U.S. and Canada. The MGM movies include everything from West Side Story to The Terminator and Rocky and will roll out over the next several weeks. It’s the latest deal with a major for YouTube, which inked with Paramount earlier this month for 500 titles. The deal means that parent Google has distribution arrangements with five of the six major studios — Fox is the odd one out — and more than 10 others including Lionsgate, Magnolia, Starz, and the Weinstein Co. The sites rent new titles for $3.99 and older ones for $2.99 and make them available for 24 hours after the the viewing session begins.
