Richard Shepard To Direct CBS Pilot 'Golden Boy', Miguel Arteta To Helm 'Carrie Diaries'

Emmy-winning director Richard Shepard is set to direct and executive produce the CBS pilot Golden Boy. The drama, written and executive produced by Nicholas Wootton and executive produced by Greg Berlanti, hails from Warner Bros TV and studio-based Berlanti Prods. It is a show about the making of a man — it tracks one cop’s meteoric rise from officer to detective to Police Commissioner. In addition to directing, Shepard will executive produce the pilot. He has been loaned out from CBS TV Studios, where Olé, his production company with Sean and Bryan Furst, is under a deal. Shepard, an Emmy winner for directing the pilot for ABC’s Ugly Betty, most recently directed the pilot for the CW’s Ringer.
