Netflix Goes Latino Via Deal With RCTV

The latest addition to Netflix’s content library comes from Latin America. The streaming company has licensed more than 1,500 hours of programming a year from Venezuelan cable network Radio Caracas Televisión. The deal covers 11 shows — telenovelas, movies, series and documentaries, including RCTV’s recent hit Worlds Apart (Calle Luna, Calle Sol) and staples Finding Mr. Perfect and My Sweet Fat Valentine. Additionally, Netflix has acquired distribution rights to Pablo Escobar, Angel or Demon?, Colombia’s highest-grossing documentary.
