After a couple of weeks of declines, ABC’s Sunday lineup stabilized, though probably not at levels the network would’ve liked. America’s Funniest Home Videos (1.5/4) was up a tenth from last week’s fast national; Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (1.9/5) was down a tenth; Desperate Housewives was flat with its most recent fast national, which tied a series low (down a tenth from the final); and Pan Am (1.8/4) was down a tenth. While the 5% week-to-week drop for Pan Am was a vast improvement over last week’s 27% tumble, the rookie has to reverse its downward course if it hopes to stick around for a while.
Fox’s The X Factor (3.3/8) was down 8% from its fast national rating on Thursday. There were mitigating factors: The series aired out of pattern and the network had 24 hours to promote it after the ALCS baseball playoff series wrapped on Saturday in six games, allowing the network to slide in X Factor on Sunday, which had been left open for a potential seventh game. There was also the deciding baseball playoff Game 6 on TBS. On the flip side, X Factor last night had a stronger-than-normal lead-in from the afternoon football game overrun.
