RATINGS RAT RACE: 'Fringe' Inches Up, 'Kitchen Nightmares' Slips, 'Gifted Man' Flat

Three weeks in, the Friday series seem to have settled in. There were only minor adjustments in the ratings from last week, some series adding a tenth of a 18-49 rating point, some losing one and the others keeping steady. That of course will change when the second phase of the Friday fall rollout starts with the introduction of NBC’s Chuck and Grimm and ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and Shark Tank. Until then, let’s enjoy the peace and quiet. Here are the stats for last night: Fox’s Kitchen Nightmares (1.5/5 in adults 18-49) was down a tenth from last week, while Fringe (1.3/4) reversed the downward trend by adding a tenth. CBS’ rookie A Gifted Man (1.2/4) appears to have found the bottom, even with last week. CSI: NY (1.6/7) was down a tenth, while Blue Bloods (1.9/6, 11 million) was up by that much. It was once again the highest-rated program of the night in both 18-49 and total viewers. Similarly, the CW’s Nikita (0.5/2) was down a tenth in 18-49, while Supernatural (0.7/2) was steady. ABC’s 20/20 (1.1/3) too was down a tenth from last week, while NBC’s Dateline (1.4/4) was the only program to buck the trend, down 2 tenths.
