ABC Poised To Win Monday, Which Was Impacted By President Obama's Speech

With President Obama’s speech on the debt negotiations (or lack thereof) and House Speaker John Boehner’s response taking up most of the 9-9:30 PM half-hour on the East Coast, fast nationals are approximate. From 8-9 PM, Fox’s Hell’s Kitchen (2.5/8) ran uninterrupted and was even with last week to once again rank as Monday’s top-rated program among adults 18-49. Fox followed the speeches with a MasterChef rerun (1.4/4). ABC’s The Bachelorette, which aired from 8-9 PM and then from 9:30-10:30 PM on the East Coast and from 9-10 PM in the West, drew approximately a 2.3/7, flat with last week, but the average may rise when time-zone-adjusted ratings are released later today. The numbers for the Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition finale (1.8/5) are also approximate. ABC logged a 2.2/6 night average among 18-49 in the fast nationals, ahead of Fox’s 2.1/6. ABC is expected to win the night, probably solo, though there is a small possibility that Fox could tie for the top spot.
