RATINGS RAT RACE: Most Series Fall

With sports offering plenty of drama yesterday between the final round of The Masters and the Yankees-Red Sox face-off on cable, entertainment programs largely took a hit. Fox’s hit comedy Family Guy (3.3/9) was the one show that held its ground, flat with its most recent original March 27. American Dad (1.6/5) at 7:30 PM was down 6% from last week, The Simpsons (2.3/7) was down 18%, and newly renewed Bob’s Burgers (1.9/5) was down 14%. The Cleveland Show (2.4/6) was up 14%, but that’s because it followed an original Family Guy vs. a rerun last week.

The season finale of ABC’s Secret Millionaire (2.3/7) was down 15% for a series low. The two-hour Brothers and Sisters (1.8/9) was down 14% from its last original more than a month ago, on March 6. NBC’s Dateline (0.9/3) was down 10% from last week; America’s Next Great Restaurant (1.2/3) down 20%, tying a series low; and Celebrity Apprentice (2.9/7) was down 6%.

CBS’ Sunday primetime program averages were once again tangled because of a sports overrun, this time from the final round of The Masters, whose coverage ended at 7:12 PM. Masters/60 Minutes pulled in a 2.3/8 from 7-8 PM, 60 Minutes/The Amazing Race (2.8/8) from 8-9 PM, Amazing Race/Undercover Boss (3.0/8) from 9-10 PM and Undercover Boss/CSI: Miami (3.2/8) from 10-11 PM. CBS (2.6/7, 11.2 million) won the night in 18-49 and total viewers.
