Ryan Reynolds Comes Up With The “Peloton Girl’ Aftermath For His Gin Brand – UPDATE: “Peloton Girl” Speaks Out

UPDATE: This just in: “Peloton Girl” has been identifed as Monica Ruiz, and has issued a statement on her hostage situation through her agency, LA Talent:

“I was happy to accept a job opportunity earlier this year from Peloton and the team was lovely to work with. Although I’m an actress, I am not quite comfortable being in spotlight and I’m terrible on social media.So to say I was shocked and overwhelmed by the attention this week (especially the negative) is an understatement.

“When Ryan and his production team called about Aviation Gin, they helped me find some humor in the situation.  I am grateful to both Peloton and now Aviation Gin for the work and giving me the opportunity to do what I love to do.”   .

Sean Hunter, the actor who plays the husband in the Peloton commercial, has also spoken out.

“People turned down a pretty dark path and it turned into a nasty thing,” the actor and teacher said in an interview with Good Morning America. “Once something goes viral, and it turns viral, people jump on that negative bandwagon and start to create any dialogue they want,” he said.

EARLIER: The internet community has been very worried about the actress in that Peloton commercial, the one where the gift of a stationary bicycle seems to increase the anxiety levels in the eyes of a woman seeking to please her controlling husband.Never fear. She now has Deadpool on her side.Actor Ryan Reynolds, who plays the superhero, has enlisted the desperate housewife from Peloton in a new commercial for his Aviation Gin brand. In the commercial, the actress – who, so far, has been in the actress protection program and has not been identified – is shown, perhaps post-workout, being consoled by some understanding girlfriends at a bar.

The Deadpool star’s commercial seemingly picks up where Peloton’s ad left off.

We begin with the camera focused squarely on Peloton Girl’s dazed face. She is seated between two friends and appears to be in shock, no doubt after finally realizing the implications of her husband’s gift. She takes a drink and says,  “This gin is really smooth.”
