Oscar Isaac is in negotiations to join the cast of Dune, Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation of Frank Herbert’s sci-fi epic. Deadline has confirmed the talks but no deal has been closed, we hear. If it makes, Isaac would play the father of Timothée Chalamet, who will star as Paul Atreides. Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgård and Charlotte Rampling are also aboard. Villeneuve, Eric Roth and Jon Spaihts penned the script. Legendary acquired film and TV rights to the Herbert novels in 2016, with the intention of making multiple films. Villeneuve chose that film over numerous offers as his follow-up to Blade Runner 2049.
