Although President Donald Trump signed a bill Friday to reopen the federal government for three weeks — ending by far the longest government shutdown in U.S. history — he’s not backing down from his demand that Congress give him $5.7 billion to build a border wall.

Trump got off to a busy start Saturday on Twitter, and reminded the nation that there could be another shutdown soon, because “21 days goes very quickly.” Just ask those federal employees who missed two paycheks during the past month.

He added that his border wall is needed “for national security” but admitted it won’t be easy negotiating with Democratic leaders. Perhaps he’s hoping his slogan “build a wall & crime will fall” will help. Hey, the singsong catchphrase worked for Johnnie Cochran.

The wall wasn’t the only topic on Trump’s mind. He also voiced support for his indicted former adviser Roger Stone, who was arrested, booked and released Friday morning before telling his side of the story on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News program last night, and brought up Hillary Clinton’s emails (remember her and those?) for the umpteenth time.

Here’s the six-missive presidential tweetstorm so far. Key words: so far. The day and weekend are young:
