Former The Game star Hosea Chanchez is set for a recurring role in the current second season of Black Lightning, which returns tonight on the CW.

Chanchez will play Marcus Bishop, a secret ASA operative in league with Dr. Helga Jace, played by Jennifer Riker. Codenamed Shakedown, he possesses the ability to generate vibrations and frequencies at will. Irreverent, bitter and impulsively violent, this ex-Air Force officer killed his superior officer when he was passed over for promotion because of a poor performance review. At Ft. Leavenworth, he signed with Dr. Jace and embraced his role with the ASA, taking pleasure in producing a high body count on his covert missions.

Produced by Berlanti Productions and Akil Productions in association with Warner Bros TV, the series based on the DC characters stars Cress Williams, China Anne McClain, Nafessa Williams, Christine Adams, Marvin “Krondon” Jones III, Damon Gupton, Jordan Calloway and James Remar.

Black Lightning is executive produced by Salim Akil, Mara Brock Akil, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Charles D. Holland and Jan Nash.

Chanchez starred as Malik Wright for all nine seasons on hit BET series The Game, and also starred on the big screen opposite Evan Ross, David Oyelowo and Brittany Snow in 96 Minutes. His previous credits include a starring role on Regina King’s directorial debut Let the Church Say Amen for BET and Down for Whatever for TV One. He’ll soon be seen in Fanatic, which airs in February on BET. Chanchez is repped by Innovative Artists, Brave Artists Management and Open Bar Entertainment.

Black Lightning Season 2 returns tonight, January 21 at 9 PM ET on the CW.
