‘Love Island’ Heads To Belgium, Netherlands & Poland As ITV Studios & Motion Content Group Strike Euro Deals

Love Island is heading to Belgium, Netherlands and Poland, taking the total number of territories hosting the sexy reality series to 11.

This comes ahead of the launch of the U.S. version, which is set to debut on CBS later this year.

ITV Studios has closed deals with Polsat, where the Polish series will be produced by Jakevision, and Belgium’s SBS and Holland’s RTL. The latter two companies are partnering on a joint series that will feature contestants from both countries, it will be produced by Lecter Belgium and ITV Studios Netherlands.

Love Island, which brings together a group of sexy singletons all looking to find love in a villa, has also been recommissioned by Sweden’s TV4 and Germany’s RTL II.

Love Island’s unique blend of light-hearted fun, meaningful relationships, and window on youth culture, has made it one of most-talked about shows of the year, not only in the UK but in every country it has aired,” said Mike Beale, Managing Director, Nordics and ITV Studios Global Creative Network. “With two new versions launching and more in the pipeline, as well as the previously announced US version and returning series, the brand is set to make a step change in 2019 and that is a very exciting prospect indeed for us and our brilliant international partners.”

Richard Foster, CEO of Motion Content Group added, “We are delighted to continue to work closely with ITV Studios and the commissioning broadcasters to create funding opportunities around the Love Island phenomenon.”
