ICM Partners has appointed Lorrie Bartlett, longtime partner and co-head of the agency’s talent department, to its board of directors. Bartlett joins Esther Newberg, Jennifer Joel and Janet Carol Norton, as the fourth woman on the 12-member ICM Partners Board, and becomes the first African American board member of a major talent agency, according to ICM.

Bartlett, a trailblazer who became the first African American department head of a major talent agency when she was named co-head of ICM’s talent department in 2011, is at the forefront of the agency’s initiative to be gender neutral, 50/50 by 2020.

“Lorrie continues to break barriers in our industry as an outstanding agent, department head and powerful advocate for gender, transgender and racial equality in our business. She is a consummate team player, role model and mentor, and will be an active and compelling voice that will make our Board even stronger,” said Chris Silbermann, ICM Partners Managing Director.

“I am very proud of the leadership role that ICM Partners has taken on the important issue of inclusion facing our industry, including being the first major entertainment company to commit to 50/50 by 2020. Right now, two years ahead of that timeline, 50% of our employees are women and more importantly 50% of our departments are run by women,” said Bartlett.

Bartlett also is an executive board member of the Time’s Up organization, where she is working to create a safer workplace environment for women and helping to raise the necessary funds to assist with legal fees for women facing sexual abuse in all industries.

In addition to running the Motion Picture Talent Department, Bartlett represents artists including three-time Emmy winner and recent Golden Globe winner Regina King; Green Book co-star Linda Cardellini; Oscar nominees Michael Keaton and Ruth Negga; Busy Phillips (E!’s Busy Tonight with Busy Phillips); Scott Foley (Whiskey Cavalier); two-time Emmy winner Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad); Laverne Cox (Orange Is The New Black, Rocky Horror Picture Show); Josh Duhamel (Transformers, Life As We Know It); Lucy Liu (Elementary, Charlie’s Angels); Laura Harrier (Spiderman: Homecoming, BlacKkKlansman); Lucy Hale (Life Sentence, Pretty Little Liars); Rodrigo Santoro (Westworld, 300) and Nazanin Boniadi (Ben-Hur, Hotel Mumbai, Homeland).
