Tyler Hoechlin & Julianne Hough Fitness Guru Pic ‘Bigger’ Stretches Out To Homes This Winter

Freestyle Digital

EXCLUSIVE: Byron Allen’s Freestyle Digital Media has announced that George Gallo’s fitness pioneer pic Bigger about the Weider Brothers will hit all digital platforms and DVD on Jan. 15.

Joe & Ben Weider were the architects of muscle. Against all odds, they launched a fitness empire that included the Mr. Olympia competition and along the way discovered Arnold Schwarzenegger. Bigger, which had a theatrical release back in October, stars Tyler Hoechlin as the young Joe Weider, Julianne Hough as his wife Betty, who was instrumental in the brothers’ fitness franchise, and Aneurin Barnard as Ben Weider. Victoria Justice, Colton Haynes, Max Martini, Tom Arnold, Steve Guttenberg, Calbum Von Moger, DJ Qualls, with Kevin Durand, and Robert Forster also star.

“There is far more to this film that one would ever expect, it’s a rich and layered tale that is a true triumph of the spirit,” says producer Steve Lee Jones whose credits include the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning HBO film You Don’t Know Jack.

Gallo added, “it’s the kind of film that shows that one can achieve anything if you believe in yourself enough and never take no for an answer.”

Bigger made its US premiere on Sept. 13 in Las Vegas at the Mr. Olympia competition that was created by the Weider brothers prior to its theatrical release.

Jones produced Bigger through his Bee Holder Productions with Scott LaStaiti, and Camila Castro and Eric Weider serve as EPs. Gallo wrote Bigger with Andy Weiss (White Boy Rick), Brad Furman and Ellen Furman.

Gallo, Jones and LaStaiti are collaborating again in the near future on the political home invasion feature Covet.

Recent Freestyle titles include the action-comedy Better Start Running starring Oscar winner Jeremy Irons and Maria Bello, the award-winning documentary Hondros produced by Jamie Lee Curtis and Jake Gyllenhaal, sci-fi thriller The Recall starring Wesley Snipes,  and Miles starring Molly Shannon and Paul Reiser.
