‘Sunday Night Football’ Steady With Last Week & 2017

The playoff-bound Los Angeles Rams ran into a Philadelphia Eagles team that needed a win to just to stay in the conversation. The defending Super Bowl champs spoke up plenty loud, though they had to hold off a late Rams charge for a 30-23 victory on Sunday Night Football. The game continued NBC’s solid ratings win streak for its primetime NFL showcase, with the early numbers topping last season and pretty much keeping pace with last week.
Sunday’s game drew a 12.5/21 overnight rating, off around 4% from last week’s SNF, when the Rams fell to the Chicago Bears in the Windy City. It was also up 2% from last year’s comparable Week 15 SNF game (a 12.3/21 for Cowboys-Raiders). It marked the 12th time in past 15 games that the SNF overnights topped the corresponding game 2017.
The game easily topped its Big 4 competition Sunday night.
Among the notables for SNF ratings: Los Angeles fans are also warming up for the playoffs. The Rams-Bears game at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum drew a 16.0/29 early number in the L.A. market, the best-ever local rating for SNF in Los Angeles who watched as the Eagles handed the Rams their first home loss of the season and second loss in row.
Philadelphia topped all local overnights with a 32.7/48.
