‘Murphy Brown’, ‘Superstore’ Slip To Season Lows

Against Thursday NFL on Fox, CBS’ Mom fall finale (1.2 rating in the 18-49 demo, 7.671 million viewers) was the night’s highest rated non-pigskin show in the demo, but CBS’ The Big Bang Theory repeat (1.1, 8.078M) topped Thursdaay in total viewers, followed by repeat Young Sheldon (1.1, 7.702M).

Mom ticked up a tenth week to week despite the big Chargers-Chiefs showdown. But Murphy Brown (0.7, 5.51M), while faring best among entertainment fare in the time slot, hit a new low in the demo, with 58% lead-in retention. Murphy and Mom both battled NBC’s Saturday Night Live repeat special (0.5, 2.12M).

NBC’s 8 PM Superstore fall finale (0.7, 3.004M) fell to season-low demo, after which an 8:30 broadcast of I Feel Bad (0.4, 1.850M) saw no boost.

ABC’s two Prep & Landing Christmas specials (0.7, 3.193M; 0.6, 2.552M) came in 36% and 45% shy, respectively, of the 1.1 a single special enjoyed a year ago on a Thursday night at 8:30 PM, after a strong Olaf’s Frozen Adventure premiere. Two years ago, two Prep & Landing episodes scored 0.8s on a Wednesday night.

At 9 PM, Week 2 of ABC’s Great American Baking Show (0.6, 3.039M) dropped a tenth versus the previous week’s debut in the demo, and fumbled 630,000 in total viewers.

The fall finale of CW’s Supernatural (0.4, 1.426M) tumbled a tenth week to week in the demo, and two-tenths relative to last year’s fall finale. After which the fall finale of Legacies (0.3, 1.076M) matched its lowest rating to date.

Fox (3.4 12.314M) led the night with NFL. CBS (0.8, 6.172M) was the night’s top non-NFL network. ABC (0.6, 2.984M), NBC (0.5, 2.223M) and CW (0.4, 1.251M) followed.
