Bojack Horseman, the Netflix animated series and tastemakers’ delight, is branching out from its streaming home via a multi-year deal for home entertainment rights with Shout! Factory and Michael Eisner’s The Tornante Company.

Shout! Factory

Netflix will continue to stream the series, with its upcoming sixth season due in 2019. Shout! and Tornante will have exclusive Blu-ray and DVD rights to the first four seasons of the show in the U.S., Canada, United Kingdom, and Éire; and seasons two through four for home entertainment releases in Australia and New Zealand. The first five seasons are available on Netflix.

The deal was announced by Shout! Factory’s founders and CEOs Bob Emmer and Garson Foos; Jordan Fields, Shout’s Vice President of Acquisitions; and David Shall, COO and General Counsel, for Tornante Television.

“BoJack Horseman crosses boundaries, defies expectations, challenges, entertains and generally blows your mind, often through laughter. We intend to give fans something they need to own with great extras and packaging,” Fields said.

Rejoined Eisner, founder of Tornante and the former longtime CEO of the Walt Disney Co., “Passionate BoJack Horseman fans will carry these DVDs around wherever they go, like Linus and his blanket.”

The show features the voices of Will Arnett, Aaron Paul, Amy Sedaris, Alison Brie and Paul F. Tompkins.

BoJack Horseman was created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg. The series is executive produced by Bob-Waksberg, Steven A. Cohen and Noel Bright. Will Arnett and Aaron Paul also serve as executive producers. BoJack was designed by graphic artist Lisa Hanawalt and animated by ShadowMachine. The series is a Tornante Production, brought to life by Michael Eisner’s The Tornante Company.

The home entertainment deal was negotiated by Jordan Fields, and Shout’s Vice President of Business Affairs, Vanessa Keiko Flanders for Shout! Factory, and David Shall, Head of Business Affairs/ COO and Doug Miller on behalf of The Tornante Co.
