‘Detroiters’ Canceled After Two Seasons On Comedy Central

Comedy Central

There will be no third season for Detroiters. Co-creator and star Sam Richardson revealed Comedy Central’s cancellation of the sitcom on Twitter, but suggested it would be shopped and could get picked up elsewhere.

“Sadly, @Detroiters won’t be picked up for a season 3 at Comedy Central,” Richardson wrote. “I want to thank everyone who watched and supported the show. It was a dream to make and I’m proud that those who did see it enjoyed it. Maybe it will find a home elsewhere, who knows? But truly, thank you.”

The series starred real-life best friends Richardson, from Detroit, and co-creator Tim Robinson from Metro Detroit, as small-time ad men in the Motor City. Whatever they do, they do it together. And no matter what happens, Sam and Tim’s love for each other and their city never wavers.

Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video and Saturday Night Live alum Jason Sudeikis executive produced with Joe Kelly and Zach Kanin. Sudeikis also recurred on the series.
