NBC’s The Voice (1.4 demo rating, 8.40 million viewers) was No. 1 among Big 4 programs in both metrics Monday, topping ABC’s CMA Country Christmas (0.8, 6.23M) head to head from 8-10 PM by 75% in the demo.
CMA Country Christmas dropped three-tenths in the demo and 1.7M viewers compared to last year, reversing a pattern of growth the last two years, to clock lowest stats for the annual special since its 2010 launch.
Getting pushed to 10 PM dropped ABC’s Great Christmas Light Fight (0.6, 3.36M) precipitously, after achieving a 1.1 in the 8-10 PM berth the Monday prior – a 45% week-to-week plunge.
NBC’s Pantatonix: A Not So Silent Night (0.7, 3.73M) topped Light Fight, but CBS’ Bull (1.0, 7.97M) outmuscled the two holiday specials combined in both metrics to win 10 PM.
Leading up to Bull, CBS’ The Neighborhood (1.3, 7.13M), Happy Together (1.0, 5.21M) and Magnum P.I. (1.0, 6.00M) inched up by double-digit percentages in both metrics, but those results are inflated by two local NFL preemptions.
Night 2 of CW’s three-night superhero-crossover special saw Arrow (0.7, 2.04M) shoot up to season highs, followed by DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (0.4, 1.11M). The three-night superhero crossover event, bringing together title heroes of three CW live-action DC Comics franchises, began Sunday on The Flash.
The Arrow crossover episode, its fall finale, was easily its season high, and maintained previous night’s Flash demo rating, though it was down two-tenths compared to the year-ago Arrow crossover chapter on Monday. (This year’s crossover concludes tonight with Supergirl in the Flash slot.)
NBC (1.2, 6.85M) won the night, edging out CBS (1.1, 6.71M) in both metrics. ABC (0.7, 5.28M), the CW (0.6, 1.58M) and Fox (0.5, 2.30M) followed.
