EXCLUSIVE: We are hearing that Crazy Rich Asians star Constance Wu is in talks for the untitled Savion Einstien-scripted comedy that Brownstone’s Elizabeth Banks, Max Handelman are producing at Screen Gems.

The logline is being kept under wraps, but Kimmy Gatewood is making her feature directorial debut with the pic. Screen Gems declined comment. Brownstone’s Alison Small is executive producer.

Einstein wrote the Victoria Films feature The Longest Birthday.

Wu recently received a Golden Globe nomination for her turn in Crazy Rich Asians, which has amassed close to $238 million at the global box office. The second and third pics in the Warner Bros/Color Force/Ivanhoe movie will be shot back-to-back in 2020 to accommodate the heavy demand of the cast in the wake of the movie’s great success.

Wu is repped by UTA, Principal Entertainment, and Hansen, Jacobson. Banks is with UTA, Untitled and Ziffren Brittenham.
