Kanye West Apologizes For His “Lack Of Etiquette” During ‘The Cher Show’

Kanye West is making headlines again — but this time it’s not for weird late night rants, his MAGA cap, or his insightful thoughts on slavery. It’s for causing a small disruption during the new Broadway musical The Cher Show.

The disruption wasn’t that big of a deal. West — or Ye, as he now likes to be called — was spotted in the audience on his phone during the openinig night of the musical about the life and career of the icon. Even so, it wasn’t at the level of Madonna texting during Hamilton. In fact, both sides were fairly courteous.

Jarrod Spector, who plays Sonny Bono in the musical about the life and career of the icon, took to Twitter to politely call out  West (with a little bit of shade) about his phone usage during the show. “Hey @kanyewest so cool that you’re here at @TheCherShow!” he wrote. “If you look up from your cell phone you’ll see we’re doing a show up here. It’s opening night. Kind of a big deal for us. Thanks so much.”

Based on West’s recent behavior, one would think he would go off the rails, but the rapper was very apologetic with his response. “The dynamics of Cher and Sonny’s relationship made Kim and I grab each other’s hand and sing ‘I got you babe’,” he replied to Spector. “Please pardon my lack of etiquette. We have so much appreciation for the energy you guys put into making this master piece.”

When all is said and done, Spector successfully informed West of his bad theater behavior and the rapper humbly apologized. Also, it seemed like West and his wife Kim Kardashian-West enjoyed the show. “The Cher Show was sooooo good! I learned so much about her that I didn’t know,” she tweeted. “She really opened up about her life and all of the actors were sooo good! You all have to check it when in NYC. We had the best time!”

Everyone wins…and more importantly, a lesson in theater etiquette has been learned.
