The Code, penned by Limitless creator Craig Sweeny from a story by him and Craig Turk and directed by Marc Webb, will undergo major recasting. Exiting are Dave Annable, who played the male lead in the pilot, and Mira Sorvino, who played a major co-starring role.
Staying on are female lead Anna Wood as well as Ato Essandoh, Phillipa Soo, Raffi Barsoumian.
In The Code, from CBS TV Studios and Timberman-Beverly, the military’s brightest minds take on our country’s toughest challenges – inside the courtroom and out – where each attorney is trained as a prosecutor, a defense lawyer, an investigator – and a Marine.
Sweeny serves as executive producer/showrunner. Carl Beverly and Sarah Timberman executive produce alongside Webb.
This marks the second pilot collaboration between Sweeny and Webb to go to series, following the CBS/CBS Studios drama Limitless. The other three previous pilots Webb directed also went to series, Fox’s Lone Star, Showtime/CW’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and, most recently, CBS/CBS Studios’ Instinct last pilot season.
This marks a final hurrah at CBS Studios for Beverly and Timberman who are leaving their long-time studio home for ABC Studios.
