‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Clip: When Han Met Lando

In a new clip from the forthcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story, we are treated to the beginning of one of the best intergalactic relationships in cinematic history: that of Han Solo and Lando Calrissian.

Disney has been dropping nuggets of TV spots and featurettes in the past couple of weeks leading up to the release date of May 25 (but for those at Cannes, you’ll get to see it on May 15). The clip features Alden Ehrenreich’s Solo meeting Donald Glover’s Lando Calrissian for the first time at what seems to be a bar and/or casino of some sort.

The clip features Lando cleaning up in a game of sabacc (a card game you can actually play, by the way) and Solo walking in to join in on the fun. All the while Chewbacca and Qi’ra (Emilia Clarke), look like they are casing the joint. After some casual banter, it is clear that Solo knows exactly who Lando is — but it is uncertain if Lando knows who Solo is considering he mispronounces his name. However, he could be doing that on purpose to annoy him.

For Star Wars fans, this could be a clip teasing to the famous story of Lando losing the Millennium Falcon to Han in a game of sabacc. All the clues are there, we just need to find out exactly how this bet plays out. Watch the clip above.
