Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine Taps Brand Studio Boss

Rachel Spiegelman has been named Head of Brand Studio at Hello Sunshine, the multiplatform media company founded by Reese Witherspoon. Spiegelman, previously CEO of ad agency Pitch, will report to CEO Sarah Harden and lead efforts to partner with brands that respect the power of the female consumer and create storytelling franchises and experiences.

At Pitch, she worked on campaigns for such brands as Pepsi, Westfield and Netflix. Before that, Spiegelman had gigs at 2oth Century Fox, Warner Bros and MTV Networks.

Hello Sunshine already has a slew of female-driven projects in the works after it launched in November 2016 partnered with Otter Media, the joint venture of The Chernin Group and AT&T. It has three series set up at Apple: Are You Sleeping, the Octavia Spencer drama that just got a 10-episode order; a morning show drama executive produced by and starring Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, which has a two-season order; and a comedy toplined by Kristen Wiig. It also has set the limited series Little Fires Everywhere at Hulu with Witherspoon and Kerry Washington starring, and it is a producer on HBO’s Emmy-winning Big Little Lies, which is filming Season 2.

On the film side, it has A White Lie starring Zendaya at TriStar Pictures, and has set up Something in the Water at Fox 2000, based on Catherine Steadman’s novel.
