‘New Girl’s Lamorne Morris Joins Universal’s Danny Boyle-Richard Curtis Comedy

EXCLUSIVE:  Lamorne Morris is boarding Universal/Working Title’s untitled Danny Boyle-directed-Richard Curtis-scripted comedy. The actor will play the role of Stephen.

Morris, who has played the part of Winston Bishop for 145 episodes on Fox’s New Girl, joins Lily James, Himesh Patel, Kate McKinnon, Ed Sheeran and Ana de Armas in the new Boyle-Curtis collaboration, the plot of which is being kept under wraps. The movie hits theaters on Sept. 13, 2019.

Morris was recently in New Line’s Game Night and is shooting the National Geographic/STX miniseries Valley of the Boom opposite Bradley Whitford and Steve Zahn. Morris recently wrapped his final season on New Girl, and an episode that he directed will air on Tuesday May 8.

Morris is represented by UTA, Grandview and Myman Greenspan Fineman Fox Rosenberg & Light, LLP.

The pic’s casting has come together quite quickly. Boyle has disclosed that he’s also working on the next 007 film, an attachment that MGM hasn’t officially confirmed yet. The James Bond pic’s release date remains at Nov. 8, 2019 about two months after this Curtis-penned comedy.
