‘Yellowstone’ Trailer: Kevin Costner’s Back Home On The Range In Paramount Network’s Neo-Western Drama

Paramount Network

“That’s the thing about being a grandfather — I get to do all the things I wish I’d done with my children. And the things I regret, I get to do differently.” That’s Kevin Costner in Yellowstone as John Dutton, patriarch of the family that owns the largest contiguous ranch in the United States. His land is under assault by developers as he clashes with a newly installed Indian chief (Gil Birmingham) who’s “hungry for a fight” and whose ultimate plan is to buy their ranch and “pull down every fence” so it will “look like it used to — when it was ours.” The Dutton spread also borders America’s first National Park.

Here’s the first full trailer for Paramount Network’s cinematic first original drama series, from writer-director Taylor Sheridan (Hell or High Water, Sicario). The nascent net describes the show as an intense study of a violent world far from media scrutiny — where land grabs make developers billions and politicians are bought and sold by the world’s largest oil and lumber corporations. Where drinking water poisoned by fracking wells and unsolved murders are not news — they are a consequence of living in the new frontier. It is the best and worst of America seen through the eyes of a family that represents both.

Wes Bentley, Kelly Reilly, Luke Grimes, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Dave Annable, Danny Huston, Josh Lucas, Jefferson White also star in the series, which launches June 20. Gretchen Mol, Jill Hennessey, Patrick St. Esprit, Ian Bohen, Heather Hemmons, Wendy Moniz and Denim Richards will recur.
