Donald Trump Threatens Iran, Plucks Dandruff Off Emmanuel Macron At Mad Photo Op

CBS News

President Donald Trump threatened that if Iran restarts its nuclear program it will have a bigger problem than “they ever had before.”  Trump delivered that shot during what was supposed to be a White House photo op with French President Emmanuel Macron, who is in town to try to dissuade Trump from pulling out of the Iran nuclear deal.

Seeking to illustrate his incredible affection for Macron — Trump called theirs the closest U.S.-France relationship in history – while also dominating the French political leader, Trump kicked off the event plucking what he claimed was a bit of dandruff from Macron’s jacket.

Macron, meanwhile, mistaking this for a sane photo op, made remarks about looking forward to spending his short state visit discussing the need to battle the trend toward nationalism, presumably to convince Trump of the Iran deal’s value.

Not gonna happen, Trump let him know in so many words, telling reporters in the room his thoughts on the “terrible deal” that “never should have been made” are well known. But, Trump warned, if Iran thinks it’s going to restart its nuclear weapons program should the U.S. pull out of the deal, it should think again.

“You can mark it down,” Trump instructed reporters. “If they restart their nuclear program, they will have bigger problems than they have ever had before.”

During the photo op, Trump also got asked if he is considering a pardon for his longtime personal attorney Michael Cohen. “Stupid question,” POTUS snarled.

Trump kicked off the event telling Macron that “they,” meaning reporters in the room, “are all saying what a great relationship we have.”

“And they’re actually correct – it’s not fake news. Finally,” Trump said, wasting no time trashing the press in the room. “So it’s great honor to have you here. We do have a very special relationship. In fact, I’ll get that little piece of dandruff off,” he said as he plucked someone from Macron’s jacket. “We have to make him perfect,” Trump beamed at the cameras. “He is perfect. So it is great to be with you. You are a special friend.”

A joint presser with the two is scheduled for later in the day.
