‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’ Star Rachel Bloom Says Series Will End With Season 4

The CW

Rachel Bloom says the fourth season will be the last for the CW’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. The CW only confirmed today that the musical comedy was being renewed, not that it would  be the final season, but Bloom and co-creator Aline Brosh McKenna have said from the beginning that they envisioned four seasons total for the show.

“Just turned on my wifi on our flight to Chicago and found out that #CrazyExGirlfriend has been renewed for a final season,” Bloom tweeted.

Bloom said previously that Season 4 will be about her character, Rebecca, and the others, finding out what truly makes them happy.

Bloom won a Golden Globe in 2016 for her performance in the series, and was nominated in the same category in 2017. The show has also won two Emmys in 2016 for editing and choreography.

Jane the Virgin star Gina Rodriguez also has indicated that the series will wrap with Season 5, just last month referring to a then-potential Season 5 as “our final season.”

A formal announcement on final seasons for both series could come closer to the upfronts in May.
