Arnold Schwarzenegger Stable After Emergency Heart Surgery


Arnold Schwarenegger is awake and in stable condition today after undergoing emergency open-heart surgery Thursday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, a rep says.

Daniel Ketchell tweeted a statement that the 70-year-old action hero and former California governor was admitted for a catheter valve-replacement operation but it “was unable to be performed.” Doctors then quickly resorted to emergency heart surgery that lasted several hours. Ketchell noted that the Terminator star is in “good spirits.”

After that initial tweet, Ketchell sent an update that said Schwarzegger “is awake and his first words were actually ‘I’m back,’ so he is in good spirits.”
