EXCLUSIVE: Jacob Latimore has been added to the ensemble cast of Gulfstream Pictures’ The Last Summer, joining previously announced KJ Apa (Riverdale). Bill Bindley is directing the romantic comedy which follows a group of young adults whose lives intersect in Chicago over the summer before they start college.
Bindley and Scott Bindley wrote the script with a polish done by April Prosser. Principal photography is slated to begin in May. Producers are Mike Karz, Bill Bindley, and Wayne Rice. Gulfstream is backed by Korea-based 3D stereoscopic leader Redrover Co., Ltd., and a consortium of U.S. private equity funds.
Latimore, who was last seen on the big screen in Kathryn Bigelow’s Detriot, stars as Emmett on Showtime’s The Chi, which was picked up for a second season. Other film credits include Collateral Beauty, Sundance favorite Sleight, and the forthcoming William H. Macy-directed film, Krystal.
Latimore is repped by CAA and manager Jeremy Geffen.
