‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ Trailer: Season 2 Brings Fight For Freedom On Emmy-Winning Hulu Drama

The Handmaid's Tale

Hulu’s full-length trailer for Season 2 of The Handmaid’s Tale offers up any number of intriguing images – none more chilling than what appears to be a mass execution of the red-robed women – but the clincher comes at the end, with Elisabeth Moss’ Offred uttering her full, true name.

Hulu says the Emmy-winning drama’s second season will be shaped by Offred’s pregnancy and her ongoing fight to free her future child from the dystopian horrors of Gilead.

“Is this what freedom looks like?” says Offred at the beginning of the new trailer. “What will happen when I get out? There probably is no out. Gilead is within you.”

What follows is a fast-moving flurry of arresting images and enticing snippets of dialogue. “Your house has been infested with terrorists!”, we hear at one point.

The series stars Elisabeth Moss, Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Samira Wiley, Alexis Bledel, Ann Dowd, Max Minghella, Madeline Brewer, O-T Fagbenle and Amanda Brugel. Guest stars this season include Marisa Tomei, Cherry Jones, Bradley Whitford, and Clea DuVall.

The first two episodes of the 13-episode season 2 of The Handmaid’s Tale launch Wednesday, April 25.
