Sahara Bushue, a veteran exec who has been instrumental in the success of such NBC alternative series as America’s Got Talent, World of Dance and Ellen’s Game of Games, has been promoted to SVP Alternative Programming at NBC Entertainment.
Working with such big-name producers as Jennifer Lopez, Simon Cowell, Neil Patrick Harris and Ellen DeGeneres, Bushue shepherds the series’ creative process from inception to final delivery. She oversees formatting, budgeting, staffing, casting, production and post-production while also working closely with scheduling, marketing, PR, ad sales, legal, business affairs, research and program standards.
“Sahara’s passion, dedication and constant push toward excellence are evident in everything she does,” said Jenny Groom, SVP Alternative Programming and Development at NBC Entertainment. “She has incredible creative instincts, deep relationships within the community and is a true leader. She has been an integral part of NBC’s programming success, and I know will be an invaluable player as we continue to create innovative programming that reaches millions of viewers.”
Bushue joined NBC through the Page Program in 2008 and soon became a coordinator in the alternative department. She was elevated to manager three years later before rising to VP in 2017. Her earlier series include The Sing-Off, Hollywood Game Night and Little Big Shots.
