Netflix Sets Lineup For ‘Seth Rogen’s Hilarity For Charity’ & Premiere Date For Danish YA Original Series ‘The Rain’

The phrase “all-star lineup” tends to be overused in showbiz media, but it’s pretty legit here. Netflix has announced the guest lineup for its comedy special Seth Rogen’s Hilarity for Charity, which will be taped Saturday at the Hollywood Palladium and air in April. Watch the video announcement above.

The streamer also announced a May 4 premiere for YA thriller The Rain, its first Danish original series. More on that below.

Combining stand-up, sketches and music, Seth and Lauren Rogen’s sixth annual Hilarity for Charity event has booked such big names as James Corden, Tiffany Haddish, Kumail Nanjiani, Sarah Silverman, Nick Kroll, Sacha Baron Cohen, Michelle Wolf, John Mulaney, Jeff Goldblum, Michael Che, The Muppets, Post Malone, Craig Robinson & The Nasty Delicious. This will be the first year the event is televised.

“We started the Los Angeles variety show six years ago in order to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s, a disease that has touched so many families including my own,” said HFC co-founder Lauren Miller Rogen. “Our goal is to educate a younger audience and ultimately create the next generation of advocates for the cause. I am so thrilled to be able to share this year’s show with an even larger audience through our partnership with Netflix and are proud to have them as a partner.”

On the other end of the happiness spectrum, in postapocalytpic thriller The Rain, the world as we know it has ended. Two Danish siblings emerge from the safety of their bunker six years after a brutal virus carried by the rain wipes out nearly all humans in Scandinavia. After realizing all remnants of civilization are gone, they join a group of young survivors and set out on a dangerous quest through an abandoned Scandinavia, searching for any signs of life.

The Rain is created by Jannik Tai Mosholt, Esben Toft Jacobsen and Christian Potalivo and stars Alba August,, Mikkel Boe Følsgaard, Lucas Lynggaard Tønnesen, Lars Simonsen, Iben Hjejle, Angela Bundalovic, Sonny Lindberg, Jessica Dinnage, Lukas Løkken and Johannes Kuhnke.
