Kyra Sedgwick, Jeffrey Donovan Join Dark Comedy Film ‘Villains’

EXCLUSIVE: Emmy winner Kyra Sedgwick and Burn Notice alum Jeffrey Donovan have signed on for the darkly comedic thriller Villains, from Dan Berk and Robert Olsen. The pic stars Bill Skarsgård and Maika Monroe as a pair of amateur criminals who, after breaking into a suburban home, stumble upon a dark secret and two sadistic homeowners who will do anything to keep it from getting out.

Berk and Olsen wrote the screenplay which made the 2016 Black List. Tim and Trevor White are producing under Star Thrower, alongside Allan Mandelbaum, and Garrick Dion for The Realm, a subsidiary of BRON. Exec producers are Aaron L. Gilbert (BRON), Jason Cloth (Creative Wealth Media), Chadd Harbold, and Per Melita. Endeavor Content is handling North American rights.

Sedgwick recently made her directorial debut with the Lifetime movie Story Of A Girl, for which she picked up a DGA nom, and also directed an episode of Netflix’s Grace and Frankie. Recent acting credits include The Edge Of Seventeen and ABC’s Ten Days in the Valley.

Donovan’s upcoming film slate includes Sicario: Day of the Soldado, alongside Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro, and the Ted Bundy biopic Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, opposite Zac Efron and Lily Collins.

Sedgwick is repped by Impression Entertainment, CAA, and Schreck, Rose, Dapello, while Donovan is repped by WME and 3 Arts Entertainment.
