NBC has set a February 1 preview date for A.P. Bio, its new comedy from Saturday Night Live writer Mike O’Brien, SNL honcho Lorne Michaels and former SNL-er Seth Meyers.

A.P. Bio will air at 9:30 PM ET/PT February 1 following Will & Grace at 9 PM, then will return Thursday, March 1 in the same timeslot following the network’s coverage of the Winter Olympic Games.

In addition, This Is Us will return from its winter hiatus on Tuesday, January 9 at 9 PM, a week later than initially scheduled. A double episode of Ellen’s Game of Games will air Tuesday, January 2 from 8-10 p.m.

Written by O’Brien, A.P. Bio stars It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia co-lead Glenn Howerton as a philosophy scholar who loses out on his dream job and goes to work as a high school Advanced Placement biology teacher but he makes it clear he will not be teaching any biology. Realizing he has a room full of honor roll students at his disposal, he decides instead to use the kids to his own benefit. Eager to prove that he is still king of the castle, Principal Durbin (Patton Oswalt) struggles to control the force of nature that is Jack Griffin.

Mary Sohn, Lyric Lewis, Jean Villepique, Jacob McCarthy and Tom Bennett also star.
