Discovery Sets Premiere Date For New ‘Tesla’ Documentary Series

Discovery will launch new series Tesla (working title) Tuesday, January 2, less than two weeks after the December 22 airing of a new special highlighting the work of inventor Nikola Tesla.

The new series follows military investigator Jack Murphy and Tesla historian Cameron Prince as they journey the globe hunting for information about the scientist’s innovations and the research that may have gone missing from his safe. From Tesla’s Long Island laboratory to his homeland of Serbia, the team searches for missing documents and new data to understand Tesla’s sketches and calculations for mysterious WWII-era Death Ray weapon.

The series also looks into theories that Tesla was murdered before he could complete his work.

Tesla debuts at 10 pm ET/PT on Discovery, and will also air on Science Channel Monday nights beginning January 8. All episodes will be available on Discovery Go. The series is produced for Discovery Channel by Sirens Media LLC.

For Sirens Media, Executive Producers are Rebecca Toth Diefenbach, Valerie Haselton Drescher, Lucilla D’Agostino, Faith Gaskins, John Collin and Casey Dale. For Discovery Channel, Chris Rantamaki is Senior Vice President of Production and Development, Joseph Schneier and Michael Gara are Executive Producers and Maryna Harrison is Producer.
