‘The Last Post’: Amazon/BBC Drama Series Gets U.S. Premiere Date & Trailer

Amazon/BBC One

Amazon has set a U.S premiere date and unveiled a trailer for The Last Post, a six-episode drama series from The Night Of executive producer Peter Moffat.

The Last Post, which airs on BBC One in the UK, will premiere Friday, December 22 on Prime Video in the U.S.

Starring Jessica Raine, Jessie Buckley, Jeremy Neumark Jones, Amanda Drew, Ben Miles and Stephen Campbell Moore, The Last Post, based on Moffat’s childhood memories, is set during the social and political unrest of the mid-sixties, in the simmering heat of Aden, Yemen, and centers on the lives of a unit of Royal Military Police officers and their families.

In The Last Post, the men in the police unit are half soldiers, half policemen and full time husbands and fathers who face constant insurgency and threat. Based on Moffat’s childhood memories, his father’s life as an officer in the Royal Military Police and his mother’s struggle between being what the army required her to be and what she felt like being, The Last Post is an in-depth look at the sacrifices made by soldiers and their families.

Bonafide Films and The Forge Entertainment produce for BBC One. Exec producers are Margery Bone and Elwen Rowlands for Bonfide, and George Faber and Mark Pybus for The Forge. Matthew Read executive produces for BBC One. The Casual Vacancy‘s Jonny Campbell and Women In Love‘s Miranda Bowen are directing.

BBC Worldwide is distributing internationally.
