John Goodman And Sara Gilbert Stage ‘Roseanne’ Reunion On ‘The Talk’ – Update

UPDATED with Goodman and Gilbert’s comments about a possible Roseanne reboot: Roseanne co-stars John Goodman and Sara Gilbert reunited for the first time in two decades as Dan and Darlene Conner on Friday’s edition of The Talk. And they made it clear they would be game to do a reboot of the iconic ABC sitcom if asked.

“Oh, hell yes.” Goodman told host Julie Chen. “The big ‘R’ (Roseanne Barr) and I did a pilot about five years ago that didn’t go anywhere…but we were very happy to work together,” he adds, “…but if we could get everyone together…”

“What’s George Clooney doing?” joked Gilbert. When asked by Chen if she would do it, Gilbert replied, “I would..your only fear is you don’t want to do a bad version, right, because you don’t want to damage what’s been done.”

“The times are weird enough for the family,” added Goodman. “Our theme was… ‘just because we’re broke doesn’t mean we’re stupid.’ Yeah, they’d have a lot more to deal with right now. But yeah, that would be a blast!”

Goodman’s doing the talk show circuit in promotion of  Warner Bros./Legendary’s Kong: Skull Island. He plays secret op Bill Randa, who leads an expedition of scientists, military and others to the previously thought-uninhabited island in the South Pacific, and problems ensue. The film started the weekend on Thursday with preshows grossing $3.7M. Pic expands to 3,846 theaters today, and will also be shown in Imax and 3D.
