‘The Lost City Of Z’ Exclusive Clip: Charlie Hunnam Maps His Future – Berlin

Amazon Studios

EXCLUSIVE: James Gray’s The Lost City of Z has a Berlinale Special berth here at the Berlin Film Festival, where it will screen on February 14. Above is a clip from the pic that stars Charlie Hunnam, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson and Sienna Miller. Gray adapted David Grann’s nonfiction book about Col. Percival Fawcett (Hunnam), a British explorer who vanished while trying to find an ancient city in the Amazon. Amazon Studios and Bleecker Street have domestic rights and will launch the movie on April 14 in LA and NY, followed by a wide release the next week.

Venturing deep into the jungle, Fawcett discovers evidence of a previously unknown, advanced civilization. He tries to convince doubters that the “savages” he seeks actually are civilized and reassures his wife (Miller) that everything will be just fine, despite his being gone for long stretches. He is supported by his son (Holland) and aide-de-camp (Pattinson) as he returns time and again to the region — until his disappearance under mysterious circumstances in 1925.

Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B, produced. The film previously closed the New York Film Festival. Sierra/Affinity handles international rights with offshore rollout beginning in March.
